The captains try to stay warm!
We are in Block Island waiting for the rain to clear so that we can get to shore. The good news is that the bakery boat came alongside this morning - fresh muffins for breakfast! It is foggy and a chilly 62 degrees but that doesn't seem to slow down anyone here - if it got that cold in St. Thomas, we'd never put our noses out of doors! The weather has been a little hard for us to get used to - the highs are around 75 and the lows are in the 50s and 60s. We are used to 80 degrees and sunny almost all of the time - a BIG change for us.

We have talked to lots of Virgin Islanders who are here for the summer. We have even caught up with some of our charter guests from last season - what fun to see them again! If you see us anchored in your town, keep your eyes peeled for our new, bright yellow, dinghy - we are easy to spot and we'd love to see you.

Plans are made to be changed but we think we will haul the boat for a few weeks and do a land trip out west to see Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon (and warm up!). The Cape Cod Canal, Plymouth and, maybe, a road trip to Maine are on the list for the second half of August. We'll be in Newport for the boat show in September, when we will start preparations for the trip home to the islands. We've promised to be back for Thanksgiving and will be ready to start chartering in mid-December.

Fair winds - Pat and Pieter
